We’re seeking a dedicated and passionate General Manager for our Plant Shop who can help us grow and elevate our retail business, offering an outstanding shopping experience to plant enthusiasts while supporting our brand’s growth.
Job Summary: The General Manager of the Plant Shop will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our plant retail business, driving sales, managing inventory, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring our shop thrives as an engaging destination for plant lovers. This role requires a dynamic individual with experience in retail management, a passion for plants, and the ability to grow our customer base while collaborating closely with our events team and stepping in for events when needed.
Job Description:
Oversee daily retail operations, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Develop and implement strategies to grow in-store sales.
Manage inventory, including ordering, restocking, product displays, and vendor relationships.
Input and maintain accurate inventory in POS.
Train, supervise, and motivate retail staff to achieve sales and service goals.
Collaborate with the event manager to ensure synergy between retail and event offerings.
Drive promotional campaigns and manage marketing efforts for the retail shop.
Create and manage social media content to promote retail products, engage customers, and boost brand awareness.
Maintain plants and plant quality to ensure a thriving and visually appealing retail environment.
Create beautiful plant arrangements and offer potting services for customers.
Provide plant care expertise and offer educational content for customers.
Analyze sales data and suggest improvements based on market trends.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in retail management (experience with plants or gardening is a plus).
Proven track record in achieving sales targets and growing customer bases.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of plant care or a willingness to learn.
Strong aesthetic merchandising skills and retail marketing strategies.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Social media savvy.

Essential Physical Tasks:
Unloading and unboxing plants/pottery, breaking down boxes, climbing ladders to install and remove products, running trash to outside dumpster, dusting, sweeping and mopping, unloading dishwasher, drilling holes in ceramic pots, repotting plants, refilling soil bar, installing retail displays or plant design concepts, creating plant related pieces like moss poles, moss art, terrarium, etc., cleaning and organizing retail space and stock room as needed.
